Smashwords: Smashwords Surpasses 100,000 Indie Ebooks

Smashwords announced some big news earlier this week  Smashwords: Smashwords Surpasses 100,000 Indie Ebooks.  Over 100,000 ebooks are now published and live in the Smashwords catalog. . .

Can you believe it? Smashwords is only four years old and they've got 100,000 indie books in their catalog.

Wow!

Panzer wants to know if yours is one of the 100,000?

Why not?

Book Review: Emma

We've got cats!

Panzer found the ebook, Emma, The Harry Neal and Cat Mystery Series. Now in all honesty, we have to tell you this appears to be the first ebook in the series. The cat from the subtitle doesn't appear until very near the end of the story. But, it doesn't really matter, because we've got cats!

The story starts with determining who the murder victim is (the Emma of the title) and then finding the murderer.  Panzer and I don't want to give away too much of the plot, but Harry has an interesting way of exacting his own retribution from the murderer.

When the cat of the subtitle gets introduced, we get an inside look at what Harry, the loner, is really like. It just shows what a cat brings into your life even if you are a curmudgeon.

Panzer gives it four paws up, with a tissue. (Remember, we can't give away too much of the plot, but, if you're a kitty lover, you've been warned.)

We give it a G rating.

The ebook is available from Amazon for the Kindle.

Book Review: An Apple A Day Keeps The Dragon Away

Okay, I admit it. I picked this week's ebook.

It's been quite a while since I've found a good dragon ebook so, when Panzer and I were over at the Amazon store and I saw Amber D. Sistla's An Apple A Day Keeps The Dragon Away, I grabbed it.

Yuri is at a dinner party with his friends, when he does a little bragging about being able to take on a dragon. Once he's started his story, he can't back down. This means a trip up the mountain to the dragon's cave; not an easy climb. When he finally makes it to the dragon's lair, things get very interesting. This is because Yuri and the dragon make an interesting bargain.

I found this to be a cute story. But you know how picky Panzer can be. He was a little let down by the last couple of paragraphs of the story. So ... it gets three paws up from him.

This is G rated and for the whole family.

While Panzer and I were tootiling around the catosphere today, we stopped in at Smashwords.

Look at Smashwords Year in Review 2011

Can you believe all the indie books they published last year?

Was yours one of them? No. Huh? Why not?

Panzer says, "No excuses. Get to work!"

Wednesday's Free Ebooks

Okay, it's been a long time since Panzer and I have given you some free ebook locations. We've been so busy with the Cats and Crime story collection we just forgot. So ... we thought we'd give you a couple today.

1) Kindle's own free mystery site. You have to be careful here. Some of the ebooks really are free, but some you have to be a Prime Member to get them for free. So READ the descriptions very carefully!

2) Kindle's free romance site. You have to be careful here, too. See above instructions.

Check out the previous Wednesday Free Resources.

Enjoy!
