How many of us are tired of listening to all the talk around the blogosphere about "How can I sell my ebooks?" Or, how about "Why won't you/they please, please, please buy my book?"
Everybody hold up your hands so I can see how many of us there are who are so tired of those refrains every day. Okay, that's good. I knew I wasn't the only one. There is actually a beacon out there for those poor souls looking for help with their sales.
100,000 ebooks. Yup, that's right. That's what Vincent Zandri has sold in two months. And exactly how did he achieve this monumental fete? Magic? Blackmail? Bribery?
Well, he's going to confess his marketing strategy at his blog today. All the steps he goes thru, and how and what he does at each step. So click the link below for the secrets to his marketing success:

Mommy Blogs More Powerful than The New York Times
In the past week I've seen three different indie authors wonder on their blogs how to make more sales for their books. The same question, "What can I do?"
On one of the blogs I posted a comment about blog reviews and tours. In a private email to me the indie author bemoaned the waste of sending free ebooks for review to blogs and the waste of writing time to go on a blog tour. It's obvious to me the author didn't understand about the potential of Mommy Blogs. (I know, funny name.)
It's also obvious to me that Vincent Zandri does get it. And he uses it to his advantage. Read his blog post here:

THE WORST BOOK EVER!: Now Twitter!
Aaron Patterson is blogging about Twitter, one of the social media writers should learn to use. If nothing else, it teaches us brevity!

Who is Barbara Allan?
I just finished reading Antiques Roadkill: A Trash 'n' Treasurers Mystery by Barbara Allan. I have to admit I really liked the book, even though I didn't know who Barbara Allan was when I got the ebook from Amazon..
Am I the only person in the world who didn't know Barbara Allan was Max Allan Collins and Barbara Collins collaborating? And worse still, I didn't know until I got to the end of the book and read the "About the Author" section.
I think that says I enjoyed the book for the characters and the plot, not for who wrote it. I mean, is there another book you can think of that has a heroine on antidepressants and her sidekick is bi-polar? And they solve murders? Come on, the book's a hoot to read.

Kristine Kathryn Rusch had an interesting post on her blog yesterday.
She addressed publishers' treatment and accounting for ebooks in the stripped down publishing world of today's reality. It covers a lot of interesting information. Take a look at it here here and see if you agree.

Where Is Spring?
I can't wait for Spring to get here. Oh, I know the calendar says it's already here but, when I look out the window, all that wind and rain says Fall.
It' s so hard to get any writing done. The wind blew down several branches that fell into the fish pond and they had to be cleaned up. So, of course I got no writing done that day. The greenhouse roof developed a leak and had to be patched. So, of course I got no writing done that day. The wind blew down a tree and it had to be cut into lengths. So, of course I got no writing done that week.

Word Games or My Life Is A Joke
I didn't post this yesterday, because I didn't want anyone to think it was an April Fool's joke.
April 1 is the day I married my pirate. Pirate? Yes, I married a pirate. I was married the first time directly out of high school. Too young. Too stupid. Two years of abuse and adultery later - divorced.
Flash forward a couple years. My then boyfriend said, "Marry me?" I said, "No."
Flash forward a couple more years. My then same boyfriend said, "Marry me?" I said, "No."
Flash forward a couple more years. Same boyfriend, same question, "Marry me?" But before I could answer, he said, "I promise no abuse, no adultery. And I'll respect you." I said, "Maybe." He said, "What else do you want?" I said, "A greenhouse."
So, he built me a greenhouse.
I said, "You know, we're both a couple of fools to do this." We picked April Fool's Day to do it.
So I married my pirate. Aargh! Get it? (No Abuse, no Adultery, but Respect, and a GreenHouse.)
