According to the post by The Digital Reader site owner Nate Hoffelder, the deadline for voter registration for the Dragon Awards is open until August 28. The Dragon Awards are a fan alternative to the Hugo Awards. The last three years have been filled with disagreements within the Hugo platform. There's a link included in The Digital Reader post to George R.R. Martin's site where he has a post about the Hugo Awards' history and the current state of affairs there. That's why the Dragon Awards came about: To get back to fan based awards.
