Bookshop.org Begins E-book Sales in the U.K. - Publishers Weekly

On his way home in the Catosphere Panzer made a stop at the Publishers Weekly site. With  no digging at all he found a post about Bookshop.com.
 
According to Ed Nawotka's post, Bookshop.com is offering e-book sales for independent bookstores in the U.K.
 
Panzer says, "That's an interesting development. Readers will be buying e-books through their local bookstore instead of Amazon."

Freedom, Independence and Choice: Finalists for the 2025 Cundill History Prize Announced - Cundill Prize Blog

Today, Panzer found a news announcement about the Cundill History Prize online.
 
According to the announcement, the three finalists have been named.  The post includes descriptions of the three nonfiction history books and the authors. There's also a section of the judges' bios.
 
Panzer says, "The winner will be announced on October 30."

James Petterson Holiday Bookstore Bonus Program Returns for 2025 - BookWeb

It's called a Holiday Bonus.
Panzer found an announcement on the American Booksellers Association's (ABA) site about author James Patterson. As he did last year he'll be giving Holiday Bonuses to booksellers at independent bookstores. A bookseller's nomination form must be submitted by October 31 to be considered.
 
The announcement contains all the rules and a link to the nomination form.
 
Panzer says, "It's a short nomination form."

Amazon announces new Kindle Scribes, including one with color screen - The Verge

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when the Panzermobile was suddenly buffeted by the sounds of clapping and cheering. Following all the hoopla took our brave kitty boy to The Verge site. There he discovered a post about Amazon Kindle Scribes was causing all the noise.
 
According to Andrew Liszewski's post, Amazon will have the new Kindle Scribes for sale over the next few months. The post covers the Scribe's features and uses. The new models will have a starting price of $429.99. There's a link to more information included in the post.
 
Panzer says,"This little kitty doesn't think he'll be getting one in the near future. They cost a lot of kitty treats."
