Free Short Story! - Fire Star Press**

Today, Panzer thought it would be fun to do something a little different. Our traveling kitty took a short trip to the Fire Star Press site. There he found a free short story.

The short story, Tex and his Stetsons, by Angela Crider Neary, is a re-imaging of a fairy tale. The story features a cat with a certain magical ability.

Panzer says, "I'll leave it up to you to read the story and decide which fairy tale it's a re-imaging of."

Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of cocoa and a muffin for today's reading.

I'm so tired, I can barely move.

Panzer was so tired from working on his newest book (more about that in a few days) that he overslept from his afternoon nap. Our poor little kitty pilot hurried out into the Catosphere as soon as he jumped into the Panzermobile.

In between kitty yawns Panzer zigzagged his way to the Kevin's Corner blog. He found a post by Mr. Tipple for his American p.i. mystery writing friends. Turns out it's time for submissions to be made to the Private Eye Writers of America's annual awards contest. If your work was published in 2014, you can submit it for consideration.

Panzer says, "Shhh. I've heard they accept indie published novels for a special category, too."

Book Reviewer and Writer Needs Our Financial Help

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know I don't usually post about serious issues. This is my place to play and have fun with Panzer and you. I like to share information with you about what I'm learning in the indie publishing world.

However, this is going to be a serious post. Book reviewer and writer Kevin Tipple and his family have gotten into a serious financial situation and need help. Kevin has an as yet undiagnosed disease which makes it impossible for him to work. His wife Sandi had a stroke a few weeks ago and now is not able to work either. They are in desperate financial straits. Kevin and his wife both need medications. If they can not raise the money for the rent for their apartment, they (and their two children) will be homeless by the end of the month. Kevin and his family really need financial help.

If you can help Kevin and Sandi, please go to Kevin's book review blog. Kevin has posted additional information about their situation at his blog. There is a Donate button on the left side of the blog. Right now, Kevin is only asking for help with this month's rent, utilities and medications. However, it appears this will be an ongoing issue, so please help as much as you can.
