Authors: Have You Blabbed or Scoped yet? - The Book Designer

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he saw some strange images flickering around outside the Panzermobile. Our big brave kitty pilot followed the ghostly sights to The Book Designer site.

According to a post there by Frances Caballo, those images Panzer was seeing in the Catosphere came from the apps Periscope and Blab. Turns out these two are new broadcast apps. You can live-stream videos of yourself and others. Periscope works on the iPhone or Android and Blab works with Chrome or the iPhone. Caballo included instructions for downloading and using the apps.

Thinking about it makes me tired.
Panzer says, "My time in between naps is already full. There's no time left to learn anything new."

Note: This is an extremely l-o-n-g post. You'll need a thermos of tea and a half-dozen muffins.

How Authors Can Use Instagram

Showcase cover art.
Panzer stopped in at Joel Friedlandar's The Book Designer site today. Our kitty Catosphere explorer found a post there by Adrienne Erin about how authors can use Instagram.

Instagram isn't a social media site our kitty boy knows much about, so he was particularly interested in reading Ms. Erin's suggested uses.

According to Ms. Erin, there are seven ways authors should use Instagram. Authors can use it for self-promotion, for inspiration, for showcasing cover art, and four more easy ways.

Panzer says, "Hmmm. Instagram for authors? Maybe it's worth checking out."

15 Articles for Book Cover Design Tips

So much information for me.
Panzer visited Joel Friedlander's The Book Designer blog.

My bad boy found a post there for those of you having problems with your book cover designs. The post contains links to 15 of Joel's posts about the different aspects of cover design. There are posts on fonts, the difference between fiction and non-fiction covers, a free book jacket template for hardcover books, and a lot more. These links are a treasure trove of information for cover design for ebooks and hardcover and paperback books.
