There's only one post today.
Panzer had to go to the vet, so we didn't have enough time to gather more news..

*******
Panzer made a stop at the Publishers Weekly site today. There he found a post about audiobook sales last year.

A link to a post about the increase in audiobook sales in 2025 over 2024.
I need to recover from today's trip.
According to Ed Nawolka's post, the Audio Publishers Association reports the 2025 audiobook sales jumped up 9% over 2024.

Panzer says, "This little kitty didn't know not many people admit to listening to AI generated audiobooks."

Digital Audiobooks Sales Sank in April - Publishers Weekly

Book sales are down this year.
Today's first stop in the Catosphere for Panzer was at the Publishers Weekly site. There he found a post about audiobook sales.

Jim Milliot's post includes book sales figures in all categories not just audiobooks. The post also includes charts to show actual sales.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... This little kitty is confused. Mom just went to a publishing summit and one of the seminars was about how great audiobook sales are right now."

Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a cupcake to snack on while you read.

Audiobooks and Fiction Drive Modest Growth in UK Publishing Market - Publishers Weekly

Audiobooks and digital books are the place to be now.
Today, Panzer's first stop in the Catosphere was at the Publishers Weekly site. There he discovered news about the U.K. publishing market.

Ed Nawotka's post gives a break down on the publishing market in the U.K. for 2024. Audio and digital books are adding to the market growth for 2024 over 2023. The post has graphs for each of the market's sectors.

Panzer says, "Audio and digital are growth factors, just like the market growth in Spain in yesterday's publishing market post."

Note: This is a long post. You'll need to decide what to bring to snack on while you read the post and graphs."

Publishers' Audiobook Sales Increased 24% in 2018 - The Digital Reader

Today as Panzer was sweeping out the Panzermobile he found a wadded up post under the passenger seat. Flattening it out our fastidious kitty discovered it was a post from The Digital Reader site about 2018 audiobook sales.

According to site owner Nate Hoffelder, audiobook sales were up 24 percent. This is the seventh year audiobook sales have risen. These were only the sales for 20 publishers and the ones named in the post represent the larger publishers.
Me OW. MEow. I have a good voice range.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... The post says mysteries are one the more popular audiobooks genres. So ... Maybe this little kitty should do an audio book."

Note: This is a short post. Bring a cup of tea for today's reading selection.

New Chapter? UK print book sales fall while audiobooks surge 43% - The Guardian

Panzer hasn't been to The Guardian site for a while, so our traveling kitty decided to stop in there today. With a little digging in the posts he found one about the U.K.'s 2018 book sales.
Looks like audio is the way to go now.

According to the post by Mark Sweney, U.K. physical book sales declined in 2018 by 5.4 percent. This was the first decline since 2014. A chart is included in the post showing physical book sales 2014 through 2018. Although book sales declined, audiobook sales increased 43 percent. The ebook market also declined 2 percent.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... Maybe this little kitty should do some audio books."

Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a muffin for today's reading selection.
