Our kitty boy reporter found a post there by Calvin Reid about a three year old ebook publishing and distribution platform called Draft2Digital. According to Mr. Reid, Draft2Digital works the same as Smashwords. The writer uses the platform to convert their document to the various ebook formats and then submit them to the various markets.

Panzer says, "If you're looking for an alternative to Smashwords, this might be worth checking out."

Note: Draft2Digital charges a 10 percent commission.

Liberio Lets You Make an eBook From Google Drive - GalleyCat

A cat's work is never done.

Panzer took a leisurely trip around the Catosphere today. My bad boy stopped in at GalleyCAT. He found a post by Dianna Dilworth about an ebook conversion platform called Liberio.

According to Ms. Dilworth, if you have a Google account, you have access to the platform. You can use it to convert your Google Drive document to an ePub file. You can even make a cover for the ebook you just created. There's even a link in the post to Liberio to learn more.

Panzer says, "Oh, no. Something else I have to learn. I'll have to use Google Drive so I can test Liberio."

Do You Need Ebook Formatting Or Conversion?

Do you know the difference between ebook formatting and ebook conversion?

I've posted here about ebook formatting and converting. Most recently I've given you a link to do the formatting and converting yourself for Kindle at Word To Mobi = Amazon Kindle.  I've also given you a link to a free converter when I posted about Selling Ebooks From Your Site Or Blog.  So, yes, you do know the difference, because you used those link (and the others I've posted here) to do your own formatting and converting.

However, it appears not everybody reads my blog and knows you can do formatting and converting yourself ... and with free software.

April Hamilton did a guest post The difference between ebook conversion and ebook formatting (at Taleist) for those who don't know the difference. She says they even pay other people to do it for them.
