Help For Book Promotion And Research

Let's go.
On today's trip into the Catosphere Panzer found a post at Elizabeth Spann Craig's blog about a subject every indie author should be thinking about. Our big bad kitty indie author knows we all need to be book promotion experts.

Elizabeth Spann Craig has gathered together a treasure trove of information on book promotion and marketing for indies. Her post includes links for a free video series for Facebook advertising, links for choosing Amazon keywords, marketing practices for authors, Amazon ebook sales, and more.

Panzer says, "I've got to go. I have to watch these videos. See you tomorrow."

Using Amazon Keywords and Categories

Follow me.
Panzer is posting late today. He spent too much time napping ... and dreaming about chasing birds ... and napping ... and dreaming about chasing mice ... and napping ... and napping. You know, doing all the stuff he's really good at.

But, he did find time to go out in the Catosphere to visit Roz Morris' Nail Your Novel blog.

My very clever boy found a post there about Amazon keywords and  categories. Ms. Morris' post explains how to choose categories and the keywords in them to help readers find your ebook on Amazon.

She also includes one very important don't. Amazon does not allow you to compare your ebook to another writer's work. Amazon will be very upset as Ms. Morris found out.

If you follow the second link in the post to the "Literature and Fiction Keywords" list and discover your ebook doesn't fit into the category, look to the line above the title "Literature and Fiction Keywords" and click on "Select Browse Categories." You'll be taken back to the main list to choose another category for your ebook.

Anne R. Allen's Blog: How to Make the Bestseller Lists: Why Categories a...

Panzer stopped in at his friend Anne R. Allen's Blog. Your intrepid traveler of the Catosphere found a guest post there by Ruth Harris.

Ruth Harris is posting about how to use categories and keywords to get your ebook into the bestseller lists. She explains how to choose the correct categories to increase your ebook's exposure. She also explains how to investigate the keywords that will work best in your niche. You do need to understand, the categories and keywords will get you into the Top 100 for your niche, but that is not a guarantee of the Top 100 in the entire Kindle Store.

My bad boy can tell you how important those category and keyword choices are. His first ebook Cats and Crime has been in the Amazon Top 100 for one, two or three of his three niche categories at least twenty-five days each month since the ebook was uploaded. The screen print above shows his April 24 standing in two of the Top 100 Category Lists.

Kindle Direct Publishing Keyword & Category Tools - GalleyCat

From my friends at GalleyCAT.
Panzer found a new post at GalleyCAT about Amazon's keywords and categories. We've been researching Amazon's keywords and categories for the last couple of days. We were interested in seeing if others have had sales increases by changing the keywords they've been using.

The GalleyCAT post includes several links to help pick the appropriate keywords and there's a link to Donna Fasano's post about her experience with Amazon.
