Panzer found this post at the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site. Since these contests are in October he didn't want to wait until next week to post them for you. Some of them have October 1 as the submission deadline.

Erica Verrillo's list includes 45 free to enter writing contests. There are contests for fiction, nonfiction, flash fiction, poetry, and emergency money needs.
