Why All The Christmas Stuff This Week?

Some of you humans have been asking Mom why we/re doing all the Christmas music, audio books, movies, jokes and stuff this week.

It's because Mom's Grandpa was born on Christmas day. Because of that, he never got to celebrate his birthday when he was growing up. No party. No cake. No games. No music. Nothing at all, because it would interfere with the family Christmas celebration.

When he became an adult, he still didn't want to celebrate his birthday on Christmas. He would just pick a day in the week before Christmas and celebrate his birthday with cake, music, games, and/or a movie. Each year he would pick a different date and it would be a surprise to his family.

Mom's Grandpa is gone now, but she thought it would be fun to celebrate every day this week.

So...

Send A Name to Mars - NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration)

 Today, Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere hunting for Christmas gifts when he stopped in at the NASA site. 

 

There he came up with an interesting Christmas gift idea.

NASA is collecting names to include on its July 2026 launch to Mars.  When you enter a name and email address, you can download and print a Boarding Pass for the Mars mission.

 

Don't tell her, but here's the one he got for Mom:
