Today, Panzer stopped in at the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site. There he discovered a post about writing conferences and workshops in January.

 

 Erica Verrillo lists 13 conferences and workshops. (One had a registration deadline in December.) Most of them are in-person, but a couple are online. Read the guidelines to find the registration fees for each.

'Harry Potter' Series A Go With J.K. Rowling Executive Producing, Set For 10-Year Run On Max - Deadline

As Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere the Panzermobile was suddenly buffeted by clapping and cheering outside. Following all the hullabaloo took our brave kitty boy to the Deadline site. There he discovered an announcement about a Harry Potter series.

 

I can't wait.

According to the post by Anthony D'Alessandro, the series will run for 10 years. Each year of the series will be based on one Harry Potter book. This will give an opportunity to learn more about the characters in each book as they travel through the series.

 

Panzer says, "This little kitty loves Harry Potter books and J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World."

35 Writing Contests in October - No entry fees - Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity

Today's trip took Panzer to the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site. With just a little digging in the posts our intrepid kitty found one about writing contests in October.

 

Read the rules very carefully.

The post by Erica Verrillo contains a list of 35 writing contests with deadlines in October. These contests are for fiction, nonfiction and poetry. It's important to read the submission rules. Some of the contests cannot be entered by the author but, instead, must be entered by the publisher. Some also have age and location requirements. All the contests on the list are free to enter.

 

Panzer says, "Some of the contests have a submission deadline of October 1, so you'll need to hurry."

BBC One to Adapt Seven Agatha Christie Novels - Galleycat

I can't wait to see them.

Panzer's trip into the Catosphere today took him to the GalleyCAT site. There our handsome kitty boy found a post about mystery writer Agatha Christie.

According to the post by Maryann Yin, BBC One will adapt for television seven Agatha Christie books. The announced time frame will be the next four years. Included in the post are links to a Deadline site post and a BBC News site post about the adaptions.

Panzer says, "I loved Miss Marple and Poirot."

George R. R. Martin Short Stories To Be Movie

Aaaachoo!

Panzer has had a kitty cold for the past week and so he slept late today.

But ... my poor little kitty boy felt well enough when he woke up from his afternoon nap to make a quick trip into the Catosphere. He stopped in at the Deadline site to see if there was any interesting TV or movie news there. And there was!

Three of George R. R. Martin's short stories are being combined into a new movie! The film will be named In the Lost Lands. Production is scheduled to start the end of 2015.

Panzer says, "It was worth getting out of my kitty sick bed to find out about this!"
