Panzer's next stop was at The Hollywood Reporter site. If you've been around here for a while, you know Panzer was a big fan of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels and movies. Now, there are going to be Harry Potter audiobooks.

Ethan Vlessing's post says all the voice cast people are chosen and the audiobooks are ready for recording. The post contains a link to an earlier post with the list of who will narrate the other characters.

 

Panzer says, "I like audiobooks because I can listen to them when I'm traveling in the Panzermobile."

'Harry Potter' Series A Go With J.K. Rowling Executive Producing, Set For 10-Year Run On Max - Deadline

As Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere the Panzermobile was suddenly buffeted by clapping and cheering outside. Following all the hullabaloo took our brave kitty boy to the Deadline site. There he discovered an announcement about a Harry Potter series.

 

I can't wait.

According to the post by Anthony D'Alessandro, the series will run for 10 years. Each year of the series will be based on one Harry Potter book. This will give an opportunity to learn more about the characters in each book as they travel through the series.

 

Panzer says, "This little kitty loves Harry Potter books and J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World."

Pottermore to allow free e-book library loans - The Bookseller

Panzer's trip into the Catosphere today took him to The Bookseller site. There our intrepid kitty pilot found a post about free Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone ebook loans from UK libraries.

According to the post by Heloise Wood, Pottermore will be allowing UK libraries to do unlimited loans of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the book's publication library patrons have from June 26 through July 9 to get the digital copy. Pottermore has also set up a Twitter account and a new free Wizarding World Book Club site to celebrate the anniversary. The Bookseller post includes a link to the Twitter account.

Whew! That was a lot of digging.

Panzer says, "I did some digging and discovered where the Wizarding World Book Club signup site is. Mom included it at the bottom of my post."

The Marauder's Map - Pottermore

Who needs a map? Not me.

Today, Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he decided to stop in at the Pottermore site. Everybody knows our kitty boy is a big Harry Potter fan, so he was doing the happy kitty dance when he found a new post by J.K. Rowling at the site.

What our fan kitty found was the story of The Marauder's Map by J.K. Rowling explaining the origin and creation by James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. At the end of the post, Ms. Rowling gives her thoughts on the use of the map by Harry.

Panzer says, "All those shape shifters and not one smart enough to be a kitty."

Scholastic Reports Fiscal 2017 Second Quarter Results - Press Release

It was a lot of hard work to find that.

Panzer made a long trip into the Catosphere today. Because of the upcoming holidays there is a scarcity of book news out there. After much digging around at the Book Business site our tenacious kitty finally found some news about children's book publisher Scholastic.

According to a press release at the site, Scholastic announced their 2017 second quarter financial results. The press release says revenues were up 4 percent for the quarter over last year. It also states the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them script book and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Illustrated Edition contributed to the healthy second quarter increase.

Panzer says, "No 2017 Second Quarter isn't a mistake. It's a human thing. Corporations can have their year start at different times than the rest of us. So their year doesn't have to start in January."

J.K. Rowling Reveals Her Patronus on Twitter - GalleyCat

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he heard ooohing and aaahing outside the Panzermobile. Following all the noise took our intrepid traveling kitty to the GalleyCAT site. There he found news about Pottermore.

According to a post by Maryann Yin, J.K. Rowling announced her Patronus on Twitter. Using the quiz at Pottermore, she discovered her Patronus is the heron. Found in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban the Patronus is a guardian that protects against the Dementors. In a separate GalleyCAT post announcing the Patronus quiz going live, there is a link to Pottermore. At Pottermore you either have to already be a member or signup there to take the quiz and get your Patronus.

Panzer says, "Mom doesn't need a Patronus. She has me to protect her."

J.K. Rowling Reveals the Original Name of Dean Thomas - Galleycat

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when his trip was interrupted by clapping and cheering. Following all the raucous noise, took our inquisitive kitty boy to the GalleyCAT site. There he found news about J.K. Rowling's latest plans for her wizarding world.

I can wait. It's only a week.

According to the post by Maryann Yin, J.K. Rowling has posted drawings of characters from her Harry Potter books at the Pottermore site. Ms. Rowling has also announced that on September 6 three short story collections will be available at the site as well. Included in the post are links to the drawings and the short story collections availability announcement.

Panzer says, "Hmmm ... I didn't know she was an artist too."

Cursed Child Sales Top Two Million - PW (Publishers' Weekly)

On Panzer's trip into the Catosphere today he spent his time looking for news about J.K. Rowlings' new book, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Our traveling kitty told you about the country-wide bookstore parties for the book's launch and wanted any followup news he could find. Panzer found some good news and some bad news in his hunting.

In a post by Jim Milliot at the Publishers' Weekly site, our kitty reporter discovered the good news that the script for the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child turned book of the same name had enormous sales. Over the two days after the launch night the book sold two million copies in the U.S. alone. The book hit #1 on Amazon. The post includes links to reviews of the book.

It makes me very sad.

Panzer discovered the bad news in a post by Maryann Yin at GalleyCat titled J. K. Rowing Declares Cursed Child to be the Final Harry Potter Story. According to Ms. Rowling, Harry Potter is being supplanted by a new generation and so there will be no more books about him . The post includes a link to the original interview.

"Harry Potter" is back - and so is the bookstore hoopla we haven't seen since 2007 - The Washington Post

Panzer's evening nap was interrupted by clapping and cheering coming from the Catosphere. Jumping into the Panzermobile and following all the racket took our kitty boy to The Washington Post site. With no digging at all he found a post about Harry Potter.

I'm already asleep by midnight.

According to a post by Susan Halzack, tomorrow (Saturday) night bookstores around the U.S. will be partying like it's 2007. That's the last time there was a Harry Potter party here in bookstores. There will be midnight Harry Potter parties with costume contests, games ... and ... the launch of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book. The post explains it's not really a book, but a copy of the script for the new Harry Potter play put into a book format.

Panzer says, "I can't go. Mom doesn't let me go out that late at night."

J.K. Rowling publishes new story about skin-walkers - cnet

During Panzer's trip in the Catosphere today, our little kitty heard cheering and clapping. Following all the happy noises to the cnet site, he discovered news about J.K. Rowling.

Now, you may remember, our kitty boy is a big fan of Harry Potter. So much so, that last year he managed to get accepted to Hogwarts. Now, any kind of news about Pottermore is big news to him.

According to the post at cnet by Bonnie Burton, Ms. Rowling has started a series of posts called "Magic of North America" at the Pottermore site. She will write one post per day standing yesterday and ending Friday. The cnet post includes a link to Pottermore and the "Magic of North America" series.

I'm out of here. Gotta go read it.

Panzer says, "No time for anything more now. I'm off to the Catosphere to learn what Ms. Rowling's got planned for North America."

Harry Potter Fans Create the Severus Snape and The Marauders Movie - Galleycat

Panzer's trip today took him to one of his favorite sites, GalleyCAT. Just one little paw flick brought up a post about Harry Potter.

Whew! I need a nap after all that.

In the post by Maryann Yin, our intrepid kitty boy learned some interesting news about Harry Potter fans. The fan group at Broad Strokes Productions has put together a YouTube video called Severus Snape and The Mauraders. The video deals with Severus Snape and James Potter's time at Hogwarts. This is a well-done production. There are also several links included in the post to other GalleyCAT posts with Harry Potter information.

Panzer says, "I didn't embed the video here because it's almost 26 minutes long."

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" Play to Be Published as a Book - PW (Publishers Weekly)

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he heard shouting and clapping sounds. Following all the noise took our kitty pilot to the Publishers' Weekly site. It didn't take any digging at all to find the cause of all the cheering. Right on top of the pile was an announcement about a new Harry Potter book.

Things aren't always what they say.

According to a post by Shannon Maughan, the new Harry Potter book is the script for a play set to open in London this summer. The script is for the play written by Jack Thorne called "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I and II." The play is based on a story written by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany. The book will be published just before the play opens. A second edition called a "Collector's Edition" will be published later.

Panzer says, "Not exactly a new Harry Potter book if you ask this kitty."

Harry Potter Stop-Motion Short Film Goes Viral - Galleycat

I can't believe it. Not a cat anywhere.

Panzer took yesterday off so he could go to the vet. Today he was out in the Catosphere when he heard laughing and clapping and general jocularity. Following all the noise took him to the GalleyCAT site.

There he found a post by Maryann Yin about a film titled Built From the Pages of Harry Potter. It's a stop-motion film by the people at the unPOP YouTube Channel. The film takes less than a minute to build the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Panzer says, "It's a cute film. The only thing it lacks is a black cat."

an ice show.

No Panzer says today. He was laughing so hard he fell off my lap when he was telling me about the opera and the ice show. Now, he's just laying there giggling.

J. K. Rowling Explains Why Dursleys Mistreated Harry Potter

I'm a little better today.

Panzer is feeling a little better today, so he made a quick trip into the Catosphere. Our recovering kitty boy stopped in at The Guardian site. There he found a post about Harry Potter, one of his favorite non-mystery fictional characters.

According to Alison Flood's post, J. K. Rowling wrote a post at Pottermore.com to explain why the Dursleys treated Harry Potter so badly. Ms. Rowling wrote that there were old resentments between the Dursleys and Harry Potter's parents Lily and James. Because of this, the Dursley's took their resentments out on Harry.

Panzer says, "If you're a Harry Potter fan, you do have an account at Pottermore.com, right?"

American Hogwarts School Of Wizardry?

Hurry ... Hurry ... I can't wait.

Panzer's sensitive hearing heard faint shouts and cheers coming from the Catosphere this morning. Our fearless kitty hopped in the Panzermobile and headed out.

Following the noise lead him to the Time.com site. There he discovered a video about Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling's announcement that there is an ... American School of Wizardry. All this is in relation to the 2016 movie based on Rowling's 2001 book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Panzer says, "I'm making popcorn for the new movie."

J.K. Rowling is Self-Publishing Ebooks

Everybody is blogging and tweeting about Pottermore today. J.K. Rowling has decided to join the self-publishing ranks with the ebooks of her Harry Potter books.

This news shouldn't surprise anybody. John Locke just sold over a million self-pubbed books at Amazon. Joe Konrath and crew have been selling at Amazon for the last couple of years. So, J.K. Rowling did the smartest thing she could. She decided to self-pub the ebooks
