J.K. Rowling's 'The Ickabog' Coming in Fall - Publishers Weekly

Today Panzer has been having trouble with his tablet computer, so his trip into the Catosphere was a quick one to the Publishers Weekly site. There our distracted kitty found a short post about J.K. Rowling.

According to a press release from J.K. Rowling's publisher Scholastic, she has written a new book. Scholastic announced her new book will be available in the U.S. and Canada on November 10. The book is a fairy tale titled, The Ickabog. The post includes a link to an earlier Publishers Weekly post with more information about the book.
A cat's mantra: Don't worry. Just sleep.

Panzer says, "I hope my tablet can be fixed. It's just the right size for watching cat videos in bed."

Note: This is a short post. You won't need any refreshments for today's reading selection; but, if you decide to follow the link in the post, you'll need a cup of tea.

Scholastic's Earnings Take Big Hit in Fiscal 2019 - Publishers Weekly

Maybe some Cat Wisdom?
Panzer was cleaning out the exhaust of the Panzermobile when he found something wedged in one of the rocket exhaust pipes. Pulling it out our brave kitty discovered it was a post from the Publishers Weekly site about Scholastic.

According to Jim Milliot, Scholastic's 2019 earnings income was down 55 percent. The company says earnings were affected by increased printing, paper and labor costs. Also affecting income was the fact that Scholastic's book club and book fair income were also down.

Panzer says, "Umm ... Sounds like they need another big seller like the Harry Potter books were."

Scholastic Reports Fiscal 2017 Second Quarter Results - Press Release

It was a lot of hard work to find that.
Panzer made a long trip into the Catosphere today. Because of the upcoming holidays there is a scarcity of book news out there. After much digging around at the Book Business site our tenacious kitty finally found some news about children's book publisher Scholastic.

According to a press release at the site, Scholastic announced their 2017 second quarter financial results. The press release says revenues were up 4 percent for the quarter over last year. It also states the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them script book and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: Illustrated Edition contributed to the healthy second quarter increase.

Panzer says, "No 2017 Second Quarter isn't a mistake. It's a human thing. Corporations can have their year start at different times than the rest of us. So their year doesn't have to start in January."

Scholastic Releases "Fantastic Beasts" Cover Design - PW

There's no cats on them.
Panzer  was tootling around in the Catosphere and stopped in at the PW (Publishers' Weekly) site. Our adventuresome kitty happened to find an announcement there about the cover design releases for J. K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

According to the post by John Maher, Scholastic released the covers for the screen play of the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the covers for two movie tie-in books. The covers are included in the post.

Panzer says, "I did my cover reveal today, so I thought it was only fair to give equal time to Scholastic for J. K. Rowling."

Note: This is a short post. Bring a cup of tea for today's reading selection.
