Save Your Shelfari from Goodreads - Paperback Writer

In his daily travels Panzer visited Paperback Writer today. It's one of his favorite sites and always has interesting posts. That proved to be particularly true today.

Back in January our inquisitive kitty explorer told you Amazon is taking Shelfari down and moving the accounts (but not the saved files) to Goodreads. Lynn Viehl's post today is about how you can save your Shelfari files. You can do this by transferring them to Library Thing. Library Thing will let you move your files and use them there for free. Included in the post are instructions for how to export your files to do the move.

Panzer says, "You better hurry. The shut down is only a few days away."

Note: You'll want to write down the instructions for moving your files, so you'll need a cup of tea and a muffin for today's reading.

Panzer was out in the Catosphere today looking for markets for fiction writers.

2014 Baen Fantasy Adventure Contest

Panzer was over at the Paperback Writer blog today. My bad boy stops there at least once a week to read author Lynn Viehl's posts. They're always interesting.

Today Lynn has an announcement about the Baen Fantasy Adventure Contest. Baen is looking for fantasy stories in all it's many venues: swords and sorcery, heroic fantasy, contemporary fantasy, etc. The stories can be up to 8,000 words long. Your entries must be submitted as an email attachment. When you get to Lynn's post, click the link at the beginning of the post to go to Baen and read the full rules.

Join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

In case you didn't know, Panzer is a big Harry Potter fan. We bet you are too.

Panzer and I have been considering doing a Library Thing promotion. Today, at The Paperback Writer blog he read about a data breach at Library Thing. It's true the breach was back in 2011, but it still makes us nervous.

Avon College Romance Novel Writers Contest

Hmmm. 50 pages. I can do that.

He stopped in at the Paperback Writer blog today. Lynn Viehl posted about a romance novel writing contest for college students being sponsored by Avon Books. You'll have to hurry and get your novel written. You'll need the first 50 pages of your novel and a synopsis to enter. The contest ends April 1.
