Erica Verrillo's list includes 53 writing conferences and workshops in June. There are ones for fiction, nonfiction, poetry, memoir, films, and assorted others. Some conferences and workshops are online and some are in person.

Panzer says, "Be sure to read the rules before you signup. Some are short and some weeks long."

Note: This is a long post. You'll need to decide what to bring to snack on while you read.

Wattpad's Verticalization: Now Making Its Own International Adaptions - Publishing Perspectives

Today, Panzer decided to make a stop at the Publishing Perspectives site and boy is he glad he did. There he found a post about Canada's Wattpad's newest plans for expansion.

It makes sense for them to do it.
Porter Anderson's post concerns Wattpad's announcement today about the company's plans for its international adaptions. The post is divided into three sections. The first section describes the company's new plans to adapt content from the platform to produce media ready projects, instead of outsourcing the adaptions. The second section concentrates on quotes from Wattpad Studio's Aron Levitz's views on the company's expansion into the development of Wattpad content into film projects. The third section is a description of the first two projects Wattpad intends to adapt: What Happened That Night and The Hound. There are several links included in the post to other information about Wattpad.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... It will be interesting to see what these projects look like when they're finished."

This is a h-u-m-o-n-g-o-u-s post. Bring a thermos of tea and six muffins for today's reading selection. If you plan to follow the links, bring a gallon of tea and 10 muffins and 12 chocolate chip cookies.

Books to Film: Sony Pictures Television Partners With Wattpad on Original Progamming - Publishing Perspectives

Today's trip into the Catosphere took Panzer to the Publishing Perspectives site. There with a little digging around in the posts pile our traveling kitty found one about Wattpad.

According to Porter Anderson's post, Wattpad and Sony Pictures Television have partnered to bring popular Wattpad posted material to television. Because of the multiple venues for television shows, movies and series, books to films is becoming a viable outlet for popular uploaded Wattpad "books." The post includes links to news stories about some of Wattpad's other endeavors and writing stars.

I must have something for them.
Panzer says, "Hmm ... I wonder what this little kitty could upload to Wattpad that would make a good television series?"

Note: This is a long-medium length post. Bring a cup of tea, a muffin and a chocolate chip cookie (biscuit) for today's reading selection. If you plan to follow the links in the post, bring a thermos of tea and half a dozen muffins.

Harry Potter Stop-Motion Short Film Goes Viral - Galleycat

I can't believe it. Not a cat anywhere.
Panzer took yesterday off so he could go to the vet. Today he was out in the Catosphere when he heard laughing and clapping and general jocularity. Following all the noise took him to the GalleyCAT site.

There he found a post by Maryann Yin about a film titled Built From the Pages of Harry Potter. It's a stop-motion film by the people at the unPOP YouTube Channel. The film takes less than a minute to build the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Panzer says, "It's a cute film. The only thing it lacks is a black cat."
