MACAVITY AWARD WINNERS 2025 - Mystery Fanfare

Petrona Award Shortlist 2025: Best Scandinavian Crime Novel of the Year - Mystery Fanfare

A cat can never have too many naps.

On his way home in the Catosphere Panzer stopped in at the Mystery Fanfare site. There he discovered the shortlist for the Petrona Award.

 

Janet Rudolph lists the seven novels remaining in the competition for Best Scandinavian Crime Novel.

 

Panzer says, "The winner will be announced on October 16."

Anthony Award Winners : Bouchercon 2025- Mystery Fanfare

Private Eyes and Mystery.

In a quick stop at the Mystery Fanfare site Panzer found information about the Anthony Awards.

 

Janet Rudolph's post lists the ten Anthony Award winners who were announced at Bouchercon on September 6.

 

Panzer says, "Shamus winners yesterday and Anthony winners today."

Glass Bell Award Long List 2025 - Mystery Fanfare

Two of the twelve.

On his way back home Panzer made a stop at the Mystery Fanfare site. There with a little digging in the posts our illustrious kitty boy found a post about the Glass Bell Award.

 

Janet Rudolph's post has the long list nominees for the Glass Bell Award. The award is for excellence in storytelling.

 

Panzer says, "Of the twelve books nominated two are crime fiction."

Call for Articles: Themed Issue Mystery Readers Journal: Retail Mysteries - Mystery Fanfare

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he decided to make a stop at Janet Rudolph's Mystery Fanfare site. There he found a notice about a submission opportunity at the Mystery Readers Journal where she's the editor.

 

There's actually three submission opportunities open: A review. an article and an author essay. The description of the submission guidelines for each is included in the post. It does say the deadline is April 25.

 

Panzer says, "This little kitty doesn't see any charge associated with the author essay even though it's basically an ad for your book. This is the one I'm most interested in."

MAGPIE MURDERS: Air Date and Trailer! - Mystery Fanfare

Today Panzer made a quick trip to the Mystery Fanfare site. There with a little digging in the posts our illustrious kitty boy found one about the novel Magpie Murders.

According to Janet Rudolph's post, Anthony Horowitz's novel Magpie Murders is scheduled for Sundays October 16 - November 20 on Masterpiece. The post includes a Program Description and a link to a show trailer.

 

Panzer says, "This little kitty likes magpies."

Today, Panzer made a quick trip to the Mystery Fanfare site. There he read a post by Janet Rudolph about the death of mystery author Andrew Vachss.

2021 CWA Dagger Awards Shortlists - Mystery Fanfare

 Panzer stopped in at the Mystery Fanfare site today. There he found the Crime Writers' Association's (CWA) Dagger shortlists.

 

According to the post by Janet Rudolph, the Crime Writers' Association announced the shortlists nominees for this year's Dagger Awards. There are 9 shortlists. There are Dagger Awards available for short stories, nonfiction, publishers, historical, translations, and new authors. There are gold daggers and steel daggers and even a library dagger.

Anybody on the lists you know?

 

Panzer says, "There sure are a lot of crime writers on those shortlists."
