Amazon gives Kindle ereaders a rare user interface overhaul - arsTechnica

Today Panzer made a trip to the arsTechnica site. There our traveling kitty boy found a post about a new update to the Amazon ereaders.

In Andrew Cunningham's post he reports that the update to Amazon ereaders is for those released in 2015 and later. The update is loaded automatically to the Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Oasis and the Kindle. The post includes graphics you can click through to see the new screens. It also includes links to information about the update.

Always ready to help.
Panzer says, "Mom's Paperwhite got the update. She said the update is kind of clunky to use. She keeps getting sent to Home when she wants the Library. It might be easier for me to use. My claws are smaller than her fat fingers."

Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of tea for reading the selection. If you plan to click through the graphics and follow the links, bring a thermos of tea and three muffins.

Waterproof eReaders Currently on the Market - The Digital Reader

Today's trip into the Catosphere was a short one. Our speedy kitty boy made a stop at The Digital Reader site. With hardly any digging at all he found a post about waterproof ereaders.

According to The Digital Reader site owner Nate Hoffelder, there are nine waterproof ereaders available on today's market. The post gives information on nine ereaders. The post doesn't contain any review information, instead just general information such as manufacturer, ereader name, screen size, etc. Covered are the Kindle Oasis 2, Kindle Paperwhite, Barnes and Noble Glowlight Plus, Kobo Aura One, Kobo Aura H20 2, Pocketbook Aqua 2, Tolino Epic, Tolino Vision, and Onyx Robinson Crusoe.. The post includes links to most of the ereaders discussed .

Not going to happen. Not now. Not ever.
Panzer says, "Everyone knows this little kitty's opinion of water, so he won't be testing the waterproof ereaders."

Note: This is a short-medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a muffin for today's reading selection.

Kindle's 10-Year Journey - The Telegraph

Today's trip into the Catosphere took Panzer to The Telegraph site. With a little digging by our inquisitive kitty, he found a post about the Kindle anniversary later this week.

The Telegraph post states the first Amazon Kindle was introduced to the reading public on November 19, 2007. The post covers the evolution of Amazon's ereader from the original Kindle in 2007 to the Kindle Oasis introduced on October 31, 2017. Also included in the post are the publishers and indie authors who began adding their books to the platform in the early days.

She has 121 ebooks on it.
Panzer says, "Umm ... You know ... All you have to do is replace the battery and those Kindles last forever. ... Mom still has a Kindle 2 she uses to read in bed at night."

Note: This is a medium post. Bring a cup of tea, a muffin and a chocolate chip cookie (biscuit) for today's reading selection.
