Today in the Amazon KDP Community site Panzer found an announcement about a giveaway.

In celebration of the 15 year anniversary of Kindle Direct Publishing Amazon is having a giveaway. The winner(s) will receive a tote bag, a Kindle Paperwhite and a collection of paperback books. The winner(s) will be chosen in random drawing(s) from all the entries. The giveaway ends November 28, 2022.

 

Panzer says, "Be sure to read the rules carefully so you don't get disqualified."

Amazon gives Kindle ereaders a rare user interface overhaul - arsTechnica

Today Panzer made a trip to the arsTechnica site. There our traveling kitty boy found a post about a new update to the Amazon ereaders.

 

In Andrew Cunningham's post he reports that the update to Amazon ereaders is for those released in 2015 and later. The update is loaded automatically to the Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Oasis and the Kindle. The post includes graphics you can click through to see the new screens. It also includes links to information about the update.

Panzer says, "Mom's Paperwhite got the update. She said the update is kind of clunky to use. She keeps getting sent to Home when she wants the Library. It might be easier for me to use. My claws are smaller than her fat fingers."

Kindle on Sale for Valentine's Day - The Digital Reader

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he heard clapping and cheering coming from outside the Panzermobile. Following all the jocularity took our inquisitive kitty boy to The Digital Reader site. With a little digging in the posts, he found one about a Kindle sale at Amazon.

Short and to the point.

According to The Digital Reader site owner Nate Hoffelder, Amazon is having a Valentine's Day sale on the Kindle ereader and the Kindle Paperwhite. The post includes links to the individual sale items and one to sale site.

Panzer says, "You need to hurry before the sale ends."

Dragging his tired body into the pilot's seat of the Panzermobile he headed off. Following all the noise took him to The Digital Reader site. With no digging at all he found a post about Amazon's Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite ereaders.

According to The Digital Reader site owner Nate Hoffelder, both basic Kindle and the Kindle Paperwhite are on sale. The Kindle is on sale for $49.00 and the Kindle Paperwhite for $99.00. The post includes links to both sales pages so you can check out the information about both ereaders.

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when the Panzermobile was buffeted by cheering and clapping. Following all the hullabaloo took our inquisitive kitty boy to the TeleRead site. With no digging at all he discovered a post about Amazon's newest Kindle Paperwhite was causing all the noise.

Dead battery? Makes a good doorstop.

According to David Rothman, Amazon has announced their new Kindle Paperwhite is available for pre-order. The new Paperwhite will start shipping on November 7. Prices range from $129.99 for the basic model to $249.99 for the top of the line model. The new Paperwhite has a six-inch scratch resistant screen and is waterproof. The post includes a link to the Amazon store for more information and to place a pre-order.

Panzer says, "Umm ... The charger is an extra $20.00? What good is it without the charger?"

Kindle will now let you install custom fonts: A how-to - TeleRead

Panzer hasn't been to the TeleRead site for a while, so he decided to stop in there today. It's a good thing our inquisitive kitty did. With no digging at all he discovered a post with an important announcement about the Amazon Kindle ereader.

According to the post by David Rothman, there's a long overdue improvement for the Kindle ereader. Amazon now allows the download of custom fonts to their ereaders. The post uses a screenshot from a Kindle Paperwhite as an example, but other ereaders have the same capability now. The post includes a link for the update. If you don't know what generation of ereader you have, there's also a link included to determine which it is. There are instructions for an update for older ereaders as well at the Amazon site. Some updates need to be downloaded manually, so it's important to check the site to make sure your Kindle continues to work.

Her Kindle is way older than me.

Panzer says, "This little kitty can hardly believe it. We followed the links and found out Mom has a third generation Kindle. She got it as a gift when it was brand new. It's so old she can't download new fonts to it. Lucky for her she has got a new Paperwhite for Christmas."

Amazon Japan to Release a Kindle Paperwhite For Manga Readers - GalleyCat

Today Panzer's trip into the Catosphere took him to the GalleyCAT site. With just a little digging around our inquisitive kitty found a post about Amazon Japan.

I want one.

According to the post by Maryann Yin, Amazon Japan has a present for Japanese manga lovers. It's a new Kindle Paperwhite with 32GB of memory. This compares to the non-manga Kindle Paperwhite which has 4GB of memory. The larger memory capacity in the new Kindle Paperwhite will hold up to 700 graphic heavy comic books.

Panzer says, "Hmmm ... I wonder how much shipping from Japan would be?"
