On October 8 Panzer told you about the passing of Robert J. Randisi. Mr. Randisi was the founder of the Private Eye Writers of America.

R.I.P. Robert J. Randisi

Panzer just read the news online of Robert J. Randisi's passing. Robert Randisi was the founder of the Private Eye Writers of America (PWA). That's one of the groups you see my membership listed in on the right of this page.

 

The only information we've seen so far is at the Mystery Fanfare site.

Shamus Success - The Rap Sheet

It takes a sense of humor to enjoy my work.

At The Rap Sheet site Panzer found information about the Private Eye Writers of America (PWA).

 

J. Kingston Pierce's post contains a list of the PWA's Shamus Awards winners which were announced at Bouchercon in August. The list also includes all the nominees.

Panzer says, "You might notice there's no mention of a certain kitty's Mom in the list."

Gratitude for Gumshoes - The Rap Sheet

I really don't care.

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere, when suddenly the Panzermobile was shaken by clapping and cheering outside. Following all the jocularity, took our adventuresome kitty boy to The Rap Sheet site. There he discovered the Shamus Awards nominees.

 

J. Kingston Pierce lists all the nominees for the Private Eye Writers of America (PWA) Shamus Awards. There are four awards available. The winners will be announced in September.

Panzer says, "I don't see my name on there. So, once again, they skipped my cute catness."

Shamus - The Rap Sheet

Today  Panzer made a quick trip to The Rap Sheet site. There he found a post about the Shamus Awards and Davitts Awards.

 

According to the post by J. Kingston Pierce, the Private Eye Writers of America have announced the Shamus Award winners. The Shamus Awards are given each year for P.I. novels and short stories. The Davitts have announced the list of nominees. The post contains links to both announcements.

I know some of the winners.

Panzer says, "The Private Eye Writers of America's newsletter says there was no venue available for the awards presentation at Bouchercon, so the Shamus Award winners announcement was made early."

The 2021 Shamus Award Finalists - The Private Eye Writers of America

 Mom is under another deadline so Panzer's trip into the Catosphere today was a short one. Our speedy kitty boy stopped in at the Private Eye Writers of America's site. With no digging at all he discovered a post about the Shamus Awards.

 

According to the site's news post, the finalists for the 2021 Shamus Awards have been announced. The awards are presented each year for novels and short stories with a PI as the main character. The four categories for the Awards are Best PI Hardcover, Best Original PI Paperback, Best PI Short Story, and Best First PI Novel. The finalists in each category are listed in the news post.

 

Mom said it will end. I believe her.

Panzer says, "Let's hope that Covid-thingy is in the rubbish bin by this Fall for the winners announcement."
