International Booker Prize Doubles Purse, Changes Name - Publishers Daily

Today's first stop in the Catosphere for Panzer was at the Publishers Daily site.

 

The International Booker Prize for fiction translations has a new partner. The partnership allows a larger prize.

 

Panzer says, "This little kitty wonders if kitty translators can enter their work. You know ... Translate a book from cat language to human language."

 According to J. Kingston's post, the long list for the 2025 McIlvanney prize has been announced. The post includes links to other information about the prize.

European Union Literary Prize: Winner and Special Mentions - Publishing Perspectives

While tootling around in the Catosphere today Panzer stopped in at the Publishing Perspectives site. There our adventuresome kitty boy found a post about the European Union Prize for Literature winner.

 

According to Porter Anderson's post, this year's European Union Prize for Literature long list was open to one author from each of the forty countries in the European Union. The long list was then narrowed to thirteen. The winner and two special mentions were then announced from the short list.The post includes links to information on the Prize for Literature, how the winner and special mentions are chosen, and the short list.

 

Panzer says, "You'll need to read it all for yourself to understand it."

Panzer's next stop in the Catosphere today was at The Rap Sheet site. There our traveling kitty boy found an announcement about a prize for British crime novels.

 

J. Kingston Pierce's post lists all 18 of the novels nominated to the long list for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year.

 

Panzer says, "You'll need to go to The Rap Sheet to see the list and read about the prize."

Goldsboro Books' 'Glass Bell Award' Announces Its 2021 Shortlist - Publishing Perspectives

Today, Panzer was cleaning out the Panzermobile's passenger-side window when he found a wadded up post caught in the weather stripping. Smoothing it out, he discovered it was a post from the Publishing Perspectives site about the Glass Bell Award.

 

According to Porter Anderson's post, the U.K.'s Goldsboro Books' has announced the shortlist for their Glass Bell Award. The short list consists of six books. The winner is chosen by the stores' booksellers. In addition to a cash prize, the winner will receive a glass bell. The winner will be announced on September 30. The post includes links to earlier information about the prize and information about other prizes.

 

I could find a use for a glass bell.
