ThrillerFest XXII (2027) Scholarship Application (All Scolarships)

They're already talking about 2027.

While Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere, he made a stop at the ThrillerFest site. 

 

He discovered the scholarship applications have been posted there  Requirements and instructions for applying are included. Applications are due January 15, 2027.

 

ThrillerFest will be held April 27 - May 1.

Killer Nashville Scholarships - Killer Nashville International Writers' Conference Site

 Today, Panzer made a trip to the Killer Nashville International Writers' Conference site. There he found a post about scholarships to attend the conference.

 

According to the website, there are three scholarships available. The guidelines and how to apply are after three author bios at the top of the post, but read the bios first. The application deadline is July 5.

 

Read everything!

Panzer says, "Be sure to read everything carefully. You don't want to get disqualified because you used the wrong font or something like that."

Amazon.com Announces Second Quarter Results - Press Release

Today, Panzer made a stop at the About Amazon site. There our traveling kitty pilot found an interesting press release.

Is there a food bank for kitties?

The press release concerns Amazon's 2020 second quarter financial information. According to the information contained in the press release, there was a 40 percent net sales increase in the 2020 second quarter over the 2019 second quarter. CEO Jeff Bezos attributed the increased sales to shoppers' Covid-19 concerns. He also announced the addition of 175,000 new jobs since March. Also included in the press release is a section about Amazon's community investments to food banks, the disbursement of 100 $40,000 college scholarships for future engineers, and funds for other community financial priorities. The press release also has information about other financial investments Amazon has made in community projects. There's a section about what Amazon is doing to protect the planet from climate change and another about how Amazon is helping small and medium-sized businesses globally.

Panzer says, "The company does do a lot of good things with its money."

Worldbuilding in Seattle - Not A Blog

Today, Panzer made a short trip into the Catosphere to George R. R. Martin's Not A Blog site. With no digging at all our traveling kitty pilot found a post about George R. R. Martin's new scholarship.

I like fantasy ... Maybe I can go.

According to George R. R. Martin's post, he's starting a new scholarship. The Worldbuilder Scholarship will be for science fiction and fantasy writers to be able to attend the Clarion West Writing Workshop. The scholarship is for one writer and is to be used for tuition, fees and lodging at the workshop. The application deadline is March 1. The post says this is an annual scholarship. There's a link included in the post to the Clarion West site.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... Know any science fiction or fantasy writers who want to attend the Clarion West Workshop?"
