ThrillerFest XXII (2027) Scholarship Application (All Scolarships)

They're already talking about 2027.

While Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere, he made a stop at the ThrillerFest site. 

 

He discovered the scholarship applications have been posted there  Requirements and instructions for applying are included. Applications are due January 15, 2027.

 

ThrillerFest will be held April 27 - May 1.

International Thriller Writers Thrillerfest Schedule Announced

All day long both days? No nap times.

If you're planning to attend Thrillerfest, the full schedule has been posted online.

 

Thrillerfest is June 20 - 21 in New York. Panels will run all day both days. Saturday evening will be the Awards Banquet. To see the attendance prices, click the Registration drop down, then click Prices.

ThrillerFest Recordings Available Now

There are a lot of recordings.

If you missed this year's International Thriller Writers ThillerFest, Panzer discovered the recordings are now available for sale.

 

The cost depends on which individual class, panel or interview or group of classes panels and interviews you want to purchase. The ordering process is a little complicated, but, if you want the recordings, it's worth the extra steps.

2023 ThrillerFest Audio Recordings

 Thrillerfest runs June 1-3. If you can't attend in person, audio recordings of the sessions will be available after the conference.

Free May Issue of The Big Thrill - International Thriller Writers

Thrillerfest XVIII.

Today, Panzer discovered the newest issue of the International Thriller Writers' The Big Thrill is online.

On the landing page you can scroll down to find the different articles, author interviews and book reviews. You can also click the links in the right sidebar to go to individual articles and reviews as well.

 

Panzer says, "Be sure to read about the upcoming Thrillerfest."

 

Note:Since this is the entire May issue, you need ti decide what to bring to eat and drink while you read.

ThrillerFest XVI - ThrillerFest Website

 Today Panzer made a trip to the ThrillerFest website to get information about the annual conference.

 

No plane or hotel. Some free. I'm going.

According to the website, the International Thriller Writers' ThrillerFest will be June 28 - July 10 this year. Like most other conferences it will be virtual only. The conference includes pay and free presentations. The Master Class, X-Treme CraftFest, PitchFest and ConsultFest are all pay presentations. You can register for any or all of them. The Author Advice videos, Debut Authors videos and the Awards presentations are all free. The free presentations are hard to find, so here's what you have to do: Click X-Treme CraftFest in the band at the top of the page (below where it says ThrillerFest XVI and right next to Master Class); scroll partway down the page to the Register Today! button and click it; go all the way to the bottom of the Registration page and there you'll find the free presentations. You can read about them and the date and time of each presentation. Since these presentations are on Facebook you will need to follow the ITW on Facebook.

 
Panzer says, "If you're looking for the free presentations, follow the instructions exactly!"

 

Note: If you plan to read all the information about the conference, bring two thermoses of tea, six muffins, six chocolate chip cookies (biscuits) and six oatmeal cookies (biscuits).

2018 Thrillerfest XIII Wrap-Up - Criminal Element

Panzer was just tootling around in the Catosphere when he decided to stop in at the Criminal Element site. With a little digging our intrepid kitty traveler found a post about Thrillerfest.

It's a very expensive conference.

According to the post by Thomas Plunk, Thrillerfest sounds like it was interesting this year. The event was July 10 through the 14 in New York city. George R.R. Martin (GRRM) was the Guest of Honor this year. The first section of the post is about an interview with GRRM by Anne Groell conducted in front of the audience. Apparently, no questions from the audience were allowed. There are also sections about an interview with Megan Abbott and information about some of the panels conducted. There's a section with all the Thriller Award winners and, finally, there's a Where would you hide a body? game. There are also several photos to illustrate each of the sections.

Panzer says, "This little kitty wonders why GRRM wouldn't allow questions."

Note: This is a h-u-m-o-n-g-o-u-s post. Bring a thermos of tea and a dozen muffins for today's reading selection.

ITW Best First Sentence Contest

Panzer is still grounded, so he couldn't go out in the Panzermobile in the Catosphere today. Instead, he's got a contest announcement for you that he got in his email.

The International Thriller Writers are having a Best First Sentence of your novel contest. You need to either be attending the Thrillerfest conference OR be a member of the ITW. The winner gets the first ten pages of their manuscript critiqued.
