According to author Richard Beard, arguing about 'computers' impact on writing and creativity have been around since the 1800s.

 

Panzer says, "This little kitty says, LLMs can't project the depth of emotion in the creative human brain."

Erica Verrillo's list includes conferences and workshops on publishing, photography, storytelling, fiction, novels, nonfiction, and poetry. Some of these are online and some are in person.

Artificial Intelligence and Copyright: SFWA's Comments to the US Copyright Office - Writer Beware(R)

Today's trip into the Catosphere took Panzer to the Writer Beware (R) site. There our traveling kitty pilot found a post about Artificial Intelligence-generated (AI-generated) written material.

 

There's a lot of AI written garbage.

The post contains a letter written to the US Copyright Office by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA). The letter was sent in response to the Copyright Office's request for comments about AI issues with "creating" material. The SFWA believes AI-generated work should be uncopyrightable. The letter lists the reasons why from a writer's point of view. Then, if at a point in the future the Copyright Office does decide to allow AI work copyright status, the SFWA lists four criteria which should be met.

Panzer says, "It all makes sense to this little kitty."

Finding the Best Creative Writing Blogs On the Internet - Jerry Jenkins

I'm always looking for interesting stuff.

Today, when Panzer was cleaning out the glove box on the Panzermobile's dashboard, he discovered a post in there under his forgotten ereader. Flattening out the post, our fastidious kitty boy found it was from author Jerry Jenkins blog site.

Included in the post are Jerry Jenkins 13 favorite creative writing blogs. Each of the blogs listed is followed by a description of what the blog covers and includes a link to the blog site. Be advised, there are popup ads at the site.

Panzer says, "There are blog recommendations for both fiction and nonfiction writers."

Youtube Channel For Writers

Just it back and watch them.

Panzer was tootling around the Catosphere today. He happened to stop in at the Michael Levin Writes blog.

My bad boy found an announcement there about New York Times best selling author Michael Levin's YouTube channel for writers. Of course, he had to check it out. Each of the videos is short, between 3 and 10 minutes is average. There are 150 videos available. The subjects cover writing, selling, editing, ghost writing, and more of Levin's wisdom.

To watch the videos, scroll down the page to the Subscribe For Free Now link and click it. This will take you to the available videos. The first video plays automatically. When it finishes, click the video you want to watch.

A Writer's Journey: What Is The Right Length For a Chapter?

All that in one chapter?

Ever wondered if the chapters you're writing are long enough? And how long is long enough? Well, Panzer has spent a lot of time staring out the window while he tried to figure it out. So today when he was out in the Catosphere he happened to find the answer at Nat Russo's blog A Writer's Journey.

Nat has four purposes he says a chapter needs to fulfill: Pacing, Characterization, Suspense and Transitions. He explains each of these and its use in the chapter. This post is a whole college course in writing not only a chapter, but your whole novel.
