Panzer's next stop was at The Rap Sheet site. There our intrepid kitty pilot found a post about the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Awards.

 

J. Kingston Pierce's post lists the winners in the nine Edgar Award categories and four additional award winners. Also included are the nominees for each award.

 

Panzer says, "There are a lot of awards."

The post says the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) have just presented the Edgar Awards for mystery related materials published/produced in 2024 and several special Awards.

MWA Announces 2025 Edgar Award Nominations

Some Mom read to me. Some she hasn't yet.

On his travels today Panzer stopped in at the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) site. On the site he discovered the nominees for the Edgar Awards have been announced. The nominees for 13 awards are listed on the blog.

Panzer says, "They give awards for novels, TV shows, short stories and more."

Mystery Writers of America celebrates 2024 Edgar Award Winners - Publishers Weekly

Repeat after me: Mystery writers are funny.

Today on his daily tootle in the Catosphere, Panzer visited the Publishers Weekly site. There in keeping with this week's mystery awards announcements, he discovered the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) announced the 2024 Edgar winners last night.

In addition to listing the winners in the fifteen categories, Lenny Picker's post has excerpts from the winners' acceptance speeches. These prove that writers who kill people (on paper) have a sense of humor.

Panzer says, "It looks like they had a lot of fun at the awards ceremony."

Let's Hear It for the Edgars! - The Rap Sheet

No. I was not nominated again.

Today as Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere, he heard clapping and cheering outside the Panzermobile. Following all the hoopla, took our inquisitive kitty boy to The Rap Sheet site. There he found a post about the Edgar Awards. The Edgars are given each year by the Mystery Writers of America (MWA).

 

J. Kingston Pierce's post lists all 13 of the award winners and the nominees. To save you time we won't repeat them here, because there's also a link included in the post to watch the ceremony on YouTube.

 

Panzer says, "Be prepared. The ceremony is two hours long. Bring something to eat and drink while you watch it."

Michael Connelly and Joanne Fluke Selected as 2023 "Mystery" Grand Masters - Mystery Tribune

I like their books.

It's reported at the Mystery Tribune site, Mystery Writers of America (MWA) have named Michael Connelly and Joanne Fluke the 2023 "Mystery" Grand Masters. This is an annual award which will be presented at the Edgar Awards ceremony in April.

Edgars Go Electronic - The Rap Sheet

Today, Panzer found a short post at The Rap Sheet site about the Mystery Writers of America's annual Edgar Awards.

According to the post by j. Kingston Pierce, the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) plans to announce the Edgar Awards winners April 30 on Twitter. There are links in the post to the earlier announcement of the cancellation of the in-person Edgar Awards presentation and the newest announcement about the Edgars Twitter presentation.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... That virus thingy is ruining everybody's fun."

Announcing 2018's Edgar Award Nominees - CriminalElement.com

Panzer is spending today in the Catosphere getting caught up on all the writing news. Our busy kitty's first stop today was at the Criminal Element. com site. With some digging he found a post about the Edgar Award nominations.

According to the post, the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) has announced the nominees for the Edgar Awards for 2018. The Edgar Award is named for Edgar Allen Poe. The Edgars are given annually for crime fiction and non-fiction in adult, young adult, juvenile, children, and television writing. The awards will be presented April 26 in New York City at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The post includes all the nominees with links to some of the nominated works.

On to my next stop.

Panzer says, "MeWow! There are a lot of nominees."

Panzer made a short trip into the Catosphere today. Our sure-footed kitty boy made a quick stop at the CriminalElement.com site. It took no digging at all to find the Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Awards Nominees for 2016 announcement.

Mystery Fanfare: EDGAR AWARDS 2015!

Nope. Nothing again this year.

Panzer got woken from his nap by all the meowing and paw clapping going on in the Catosphere. A quick trip showed our sleepy kitty boy that there is a lot of excitement and partying going on tonight.

According to a post at Janet Rudolph's Mystery Fanfare blog the 2015 Mystery Writers of America Edgar Awards have been presented. No surprise that Stephen King won Best Novel for Mr. Mercedes.

Panzer says, "It was almost worth waking up for, but it would have been better if I won an award too."

2015 Edgar Award Nominations Announced

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere and stopped in at J. Kingston Pierce's The Rap Sheet blog. Our kitty boy reporter has been waiting and waiting and waiting for the release of the names of the 2015 Mystery Writers of America (MWA) nominees for the Edgar Allan Poe (the Edgar) Awards. According to Mr. Pierce, they've finally been announced.
