B&N Systems Hacked - Publishers Weekly

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when the Panzermobile was shaken and buffeted by crying and screaming outside. Following all the chaos took our brave kitty pilot to the Publishers Weekly site. There he found a post about Barnes and Noble being hacked.

Somebody just causing trouble.

According to Jim Milliot's post, Barnes and Noble sent an email to customers alerting them that the company's corporate systems had been hacked. Although some store functions were shut down for a time, everything is now working again. Barnes and Noble's email contained good news and bad news for customers. The good news? The hackers didn't get your financial information (credit card). The bad news? The hackers got your email address, billing and shipping address and your phone number. The post includes a list of questions and answers about what was and wasn't accessed.

Panzer says, "That explains those emails I've been getting from those girl kitties in Russia that want to meet me. I can't go there to see them. I'm not even allowed outside while this virus thingy is going on. "

Microsoft's new foldable Android-based Surface Duo goes on sale Sept. 10 $1,399 - GeekWire

Today as Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere, the Panzermobile was suddenly shaken by oohing and aahing coming from outside. Following all the noise took our brave kitty boy to the GeekWire site. There he discovered a post about Microsoft's new Surface Duo was causing all the excitement.

Don't forget it costs $1,399.

According to the post by Taylor Soper, Microsoft has opened pre-orders for it's new Surface Duo. The phone will have dual screens which will fold closed. The two screens allow you to run two apps on the Surface at the same time. It comes with a camera and 15.5 hours of play time. You can also use it as an ereader for Kindle ebooks. The post explains all the uses and has screen shots and short promo videos of the uses.

Panzer says, "Oh yeah. It can be used as a phone too."

Amazon Announces All-New Kindle App - Easier Than Ever to Read and Connect with Friends - Press Release

You know Halloween is coming, right?

Today, as Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere he heard strange sounds outside the Panzermobile. Following the whispering took our adventuresome kitty to the Amazon press site. With no digging at allow he found a press release about a new Amazon Kindle app.

According to the press release Amazon has a new Kindle app for your iOS and Android phone or tablet. With both versions of the app you'll be able to read a book or visit the bookstore to look for another book. The iOS app gives you access to Goodreads. That feature will be added to the Android version later. The press release goes into more details about each of the features. It also includes links to download the apps.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... This little kitty wonders if he can text to Goodreads on his phone screen with his long claws."
