PEN America Finds Literary Translators Underpaid, Underappreciated - Publishers Daily

This post has a link to Publishers Daily's post about book translators and how they work.
I didn't know any of this about translators.
Today, Panzer made a stop at the Publishers Daily site where he found an interesting post about translators.

The post is about a PEN America report released last month about translators and how they're paid and recognized for their work. The last section of the post is an examination of how AI is impacting book translations. Included in the post are links to other reports and analysis relating to translation work.

Panzer says, "This little kitty didn't know translators were paid by the word."

Note: This is a very long post. You'll need to decide what to bring to snack on.

The woman who gave America the Christmas tree - Washington Examiner

Only 2 Days Until Christmas
Panzer took a break from Mom's baking and went tootling around in the Catosphere. Our tired kitty boy stopped in at the Washington Examiner site. With a little digging he found a post about how the Christmas tree became a traditional part of the American Christmas.

According to J. Mark Powell we (Americans) owe the entire American Christmas tree tradition to one woman, one Queen and one Prince. Interesting reading.

Panzer says, "A kitty's work educating humans is never done."

Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of cocoa and two Christmas cookies (biscuits) for today's reading selection. Enjoy the break from all your Christmas preparations.
