Amazon is hiring 250,000 employees for the holidays, and making the largest ever investment in U.S. hourly wages - Amazon

Today's trip into the Catosphere took Panzer to the Amazon Now news site. There he found an announcement about Amazon's seasonal hiring.

That would buy a lot of kitty treats.

According to the site, Amazon will be hiring 250,000 new employees across the U.S. The employees will fill fulfillment and transportation positions for the holidays. The positions are either temporary or permanent. The announcement also contains information about hourly pay and health and education benefits.

Amazon Announces Plans to Hire 125,000 Employees in Hundreds of Cities and Towns Across America - Press Release

Today, Panzer has a quick post for you from Amazon.

 

According to the Press Release on the Amazon News site, the company will be hiring 125,000 new employees in various states. The post includes a link with information about how to apply. Pay is $18 an hour. Depending on the job there may be a signing bonus too. 

 

Also included in the post just before the About Amazon section is a link to register for Amazon's Career Day - America on September 15. This is Amazon's recruiter coaching day to help you get a job. It's free to register and attend the sessions. It's virtual, but has limited attendance.

 

Sorry! It was just announced today.

Amazon hires 248,500 people in Q3 as Jeff Bezos challenges large employers to raise minimum wage - GeekWire

 Panzer decided to make a stop at the GeekWire site today. With a little digging in the posts there, our inquisitive kitty found one about Amazon.

 

1.13 million?

According to Taylor Soper's post, Amazon has 1.13 million employees worldwide. 400,000 of those employees were hired this year. Now Amazon plans to hire another 100,000 seasonal workers for the company's distribution centers. Amazon pays its employees a minimum wage of $15.00 per hour and CEO Jeff Bezos challenged other large employers to raise their minimum hourly wage as well. Amazon will hire 100k warehouse workers amid pandemic-driven surge in online shopping - GeekWire

You can never be too careful.

Today as Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere* he made a stop at the GeekWire site. There our brave kitty boy found a post about Amazon.

According to the GeekWire post by Monica Nickelsburg, Amazon is on a hiring spree. The coronavirus has caused a lot of people worldwide to do their shopping online at Amazon. The company wasn't prepared for the influx of shoppers and is now hiring employees to catch up.The company plans to hire 100,000 workers worldwide. The company is also giving warehouse workers a $2.00 an hour raise while the buying frenzy continues. They've instituted a grant program for sick workers with Covid-19 too.

Panzer says, "Mom ordered some ear thingies for What's His Name's Bose headphones and they got here on time. Then she tried to order something from the Amazon Pantry store and finally gave up because they were out."

Today as Panzer entered the Catosphere he heard clapping and cheering outside. Following all the jocularity took our brave kitty boy to the GeekWire site. There with no digging at all he discovered a post about Amazon's employment plans.

MeWOW! 30,000 jobs!

According to GeekWire's Civic Editor Monica Nickelsburg, Amazon announced they now have 53,500 employees in the Seattle (Washington) area, 650,000 globally, and employee expansion plans. On September 17 the company is holding a "Career Day" with plans to hire 30,000 new employees. The "Career Day" will be held in Seattle as well as five other cities.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... According to the post, some of the jobs require specific talents."

Amazon to Create More Than 100,000 New, Full-Time, Full-Benefit Jobs across the U.S. over the Next 18 months - Press Release at Business Wire

Panzer was shaken out of his noon nap today by all the hullabaloo coming from the Catosphere. Hopping into the Panzermobile he followed all the clapping and cheering to the Business Wire site. There our inquisitive kitty discovered a post about Amazon.

Hmm ... They are spread over 7 states.

According to the Business Wire post, Amazon announced plans to add 100,000 new jobs in the U.S. by mid-2018. These jobs will cover everything from entry-level positions in new fulfillment centers already under construction to specialized positions such as engineers. The jobs will be available in Washington (state), Texas, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Florida, and New Jersey. All jobs are full-time.

Amazon Has 6,000 U.S. Jobs Available

Here's your chance to work at Amazon.

Out in the Catosphere today Panzer found some news of interest at the Business Wire site. Our kitty boy found some employment news about Amazon's fulfillment centers in the USA.

According to the post, Amazon will be hiring 6,000 new employees. Amazon says their growth necessitates more employees to fill the demand. The post also states these are full-time jobs with full benefits, including educational benefits. There's a list in the post of the fulfillment centers that Amazon is hiring for and a link for job information. There's no mention in the post of jobs outside the U.S.
