 There he found this year's Booker Prize longlist. The list has 13 books with a description of each on it.

David Szalay Wins Booker Prize for 'Flesh' - Publishers Weekly

Goes on Mom's TBR pile.

Here's the Booker Prize winner announcement Panzer found at the Publishers Weekly site.

 

According to Sophia Stewart's post, David Szalay was named the winner on November 10. The post includes links to other information about the prize and other novels.

Panzer stopped in at the Publishing Perspectives site today. There our inquisitive kitty found a post about the Booker Prize for Fiction.

 

According to Porter Anderson's post, the shortlist of the six books remaining in competition have been announced. The post contains several links of which one is a link to view the announcement.

 

Panzer says, "It's the first time they've done the announcement live like this."

Samantha Harvey's 'Orbital' Wins 50,000 Booker Prize - Publishing Perspectives

It sounds like an interesting book.

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he heard clapping and cheering outside the Panzermobile. Following all the noise took our brave kitty boy to the Publishing Perspectives site. There he discovered a post about the Booker Prize.

 

According to Porter Anderson's post, British author Samantha Harvey won the Booker Prize 2024. Her novel 'Orbital' won from a short list of six fiction novels.

 

Panzer says, "The post says it's a very short novel at 136 pages long."

The U.K.'s Booker Prize for Fiction Names It's 2024 Shortlist - Publishing Perspective

There are a lot of contest shortlists  now.

Today Panzer decided to spend some time collecting news around the Catosphere about 2024 book awards shortlists. His first stop was at the Publishing Perspectives site.

 

Porter Anderson's post has the nominees shortlist for the Booker Prize for Fiction. There are 6 novels on the list. The winner will be announced on November 12. The post includes information on how the books are chosen for the longlist, shortlist and the winner. There's also information about how winning the prize effects book sales. There are also links to more information about the Booker Prize included in the post.

 

Panzer says, "The judges do a lot of work to pick the winner."

 According to Porter Anderson's post, the writers on the shortlist are from the United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, and Canada. The post includes the name and a photo of each of the six writers on the shortlist.

England's Booker Prize Asks Public To Name Its Trophy - Publishing Perspectives

Today, Panzer was shaken from his kitty bed by clapping and cheering coming from the Catosphere. Jumping in the Panzermobile, our adventuresome kitty boy followed all the hubbub to the Publishing Perspectives site. There he discovered a post about the Booker Prize was causing all the excitement.

It sounds like fun.

According to Porter Anderson's post, the Booker Prize organization is asking the public to submit names for the award trophy. Entrants will be asked to submit a name for consideration. All the names will be narrowed down to six. Those six names will then be voted on by a jury of five. The submitter of the winning entry will receive a prize. The post contains a link to the rules and a submission form.

Panzer says, "You better hurry.The submission deadline is January 27."

The UK's Booker Prize Announces California's Crankstart as Its New Anchor Sponsor - Publishing Perspectives

Times are changing.

Today as Panzer was enjoying a leisurely trip around the Catosphere, he decided to stop in at the Publishing Perspectives site. There he found a post about the Booker Prize.

According to Publishing Perspectives Editor-in-Chief Porter Anderson, the Man Prize has found a new anchor sponsor. The California-based Crankstart has stepped in as sponsor. Panzer told you in January about the Man Group withdrawing as a sponsor of the Man Booker Prize. Crankstart will not put their name on the prize as the Man Group did. Anticipating a possible little brouhaha about an American (USA) anchor sponsor, the Booker Prize Foundation issued several statements about Crankstart Foundation's charitable contributions to various colleges, universities and programs. Links to other posts for information about the Booker Prize are included in the post.

Panzer says, "This little kitty was wondering who would step in to replace the Man Group and it didn't take long before Crankstart did."
