We made it through yesterday's storm all right.  The thunder and lightening put on quite a light show overhead. Lightening did hit a light rail station, a few thousand people lost power because of lightening strikes and a house roof burned because of a strike. Even with all that, the news says nobody got hurt.

Today, Panzer made a quick trip to the Writer Beware (R) site. There he found a post about problems authors and illustrators  are having with a children's book publisher.
 
According to Victoria Strauss's post, the problems being encountered at Clear Fork Press run from not receiving royalty payments to not receiving ordered books on time. As with all of her posts Victoria Strauss does a deep investigations of the problems.

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere when he decided to make a stop at Janet Rudolph's Mystery Fanfare site. There he found a notice about a submission opportunity at the Mystery Readers Journal where she's the editor.
 
There's actually three submission opportunities open: A review. an article and an author essay. The description of the submission guidelines for each is included in the post. It does say the deadline is April 25.
 
Panzer says, "This little kitty doesn't see any charge associated with the author essay even though it's basically an ad for your book. This is the one I'm most interested in."

The 30th Annual Audie Awards: 28 Category Winners - Publishing Perspectives

Today, as Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere, he heard clapping and cheering outside the Panzermobile. Following all the hoopla took our inquisitive kitty boy to the Publishing Perspectives site. There he discovered news about the Audie Awards.
 
According to Porter Anderson's post, the Audie Awards were presented yesterday in New York. The Audie Awards are presented to the best narrator/reader in each of 28 categories. The list of winners is at the end of the post and some of them might surprise you.
 
Panzer says, "There's even a short story collection category."
