Gwyl Crime Cymru Festival - Wale's First International Crime Literature Festival

Today, Panzer went to the Gwyl Crime Cymru festival site. Our traveling kitty boy discovered because of Covid 19 this year's festival will be online again.

We enjoyed it last year.
The festival consists of two events per evening for a total of twelve. Two of the twelve will be in Welsh and the others in English.  The events cover a wide spectrum of subjects including historical crime, plotting, characters, setting, and more. The festival will be held April 27-29 and May 2-4. Tickets are free, but you must "buy" them in order to attend.

Panzer says, "Mom already got our tickets."

Note: If you click on the Programme and Tickets button on the top bar, it will take you to the ticket ordering page. If you missed last year's festival, the events are on YouTube to watch.

How to cancel or postpone a KDP preorder deadline without penalty - Creativindie

Today Panzer decided to visit some of the sites he hasn't been to for a while. Our nostalgic kitty boy made a stop at the Creativindie site. With a little digging in the posts there he found one about cancelling or postponing an author's pre-order deadline.

Cats don't like deadlines.
According to site owner and author Derek Murphy, over the years he's had to change his pre-order deadlines several times. Previously, KDP banned him from having pre-orders for a year. Now KDP has changed the pre-order deadline cancel and postpone rules. Derek Murphy explains the new rules and the steps necessary to successfully use them.

Panzer says, "Sometimes life just gets in the way and you can't finish your book on time."

Note:This is a long-medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a muffin for today's reading lesson.

National Respect Your Cat Day

 National Respect Your Cat Day

Every Day Is Respect Your Cat Day

A Panzerism

 Panzer on fun outdoor activities:

Today I was trying to play with one of the Koi fish in the pond.

When What's His Name saw what I was doing, he came running and yelling an waving his arms at me.

Those rocks at the edge of the pond sure are slippery ...

And ...

One of those slippery rocks just reach right up and tripped What's His Name ...

Panzer says, He was flapping his arms like he could fly.
He was flapping his arms like he could fly.*
He sort of ... well ... kind of ... you know ... fell into the water.

But not all the way ...

Just up to his ears.

Upcoming Mystery Awards Ceremonies

Today, when Panzer was cleaning the Panzermobile, he found four wadded up posts. The first he found under the pilot's seat was about the Lefty Awards nominees. The second he found in the glove box was about the Agatha Awards nominees. The third he found in the cup holder was about the Barry Awards nominees. The fourth he found under the wiper blade for the windscreen was about the CrimeFEST Awards nominees.

Instead of posting each individually, our fastidious kitty boy decided to put them all together in one post.

The information about each award and the nominees is available by following the links below.

50 Writing Contests in April 2022 - No entry fee - Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity

Panzer stopped in at the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site today. There he found a post about writing contests.

The fiction contests look interesting.
The post by Erica Verrillo lists 50 writing contests. The contests include fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and plays. None of the contests have an entry fee. All the contests pay the winners, however, not always monetarily. All have an April deadline, but some deadlines are April 1.

Panzer says, "Always read the submission rules carefully."

Note: This is a long post. Bring a cup of tea and a large muffin for your reading today. If you plan to follow any of the links, you're responsible for deciding what to bring to eat and drink.

Angela Ackerman: How to Raise the Stakes Without Killing Everyone - Mystery Writers of America - Mid-Atlantic Chapter

Looks interesting to this little kitty.
Today, when Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere, he discovered the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America (MWA) is having a free online event featuring non-fiction author Angela Ackerman. As you can tell from the event title it will cover ideas about how to threaten your story characters without threatening them with death.

The webinar is April 12 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm PDT. You don't need to be a member of the Chapter or of the MWA to register and attend.

23 Awesome Writing Conferences in April 2022 - Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity

Today's trip into the Catosphere took Panzer to the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site. There he found a post about writing conferences in April.

Erica Verrillo's post lists 23 writing conferences in April. There are conferences for poetry, fiction, nonfiction, comics and SF and F. Some of the conferences are online, some are in-person and some are hybrid online and in-person.

It's virtual Norwescon for me.
Panzer says, "You need to hurry. At least one of the conference's in-person registration is already filled."

Note: This is a medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a small muffin while you're looking to see which conferences interest you. You'll need to decide what to bring to eat and drink while you read about and register for the conferences that interest you.

A New Panzerism

 Panzer on cat personalities:

If reading the above didn't give you a serious pause, read it again.

Yes ...

It's an oxymoron.

Still don't get it?

Cats don't have personalities ...

But ...

Saying cats have catalities is really awkward.

Panzer says, Still don't get it? Personalities.
Still don't get it? Personalities..
So ...

Let's just say ...

The noble feline is known for it's incredibly cute sequences of adorable behaviorisms.
