93 Calls for Submissions in July 2024 - Paying markets - Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity

Panzer says, I'm dreaming of tomorrow's barbeque.
I'm dreaming of tomorrow's barbeque.
Panzer made a quick stop at the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site today. There he found a list of sites looking for writing submissions.

Erica Verrillo's post lists 93 sites looking for submissions of fiction, flash fiction, short stories, novellas, nonfiction, essays, poetry, art work, and in all genres. Some do have restrictions so be sure to read the submission guidelines.

Panzer says, "Sorry this is late. Been busy getting ready for tomorrow's Independence Day (USA) festivities."

Note:With 93 calls for submissions listed this is a very long post. You'll need to decide what to bring to snack on while you read.

Appeals Court Hears Internet Archive Copyright Case - Publishers Weekly

Panzer says, I do not understand.
I do not understand.
Today Panzer went to the Publishers Weekly site. There our inquisitive kitty boy found a post about the Internet Archive (IA). This has been a long case.

Andrew Albanese's post covers what is currently happening in IA's appeal of being found guilty of copyright infringement.

Panzer says, "Hmm ... Let's see. ... You admit you scanned the books without permission. ... You admit you loaned out the copies without permission. ... How can you say you're not guilty?"

Note: This is a long-medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a muffin to snack on while you read.

A Monday Panzerism - Monday July 1

 Panzer on statistical analysis:

It's pretty easy to tell when information supplied as fact is incorrect.

Now take for example, Mom's statement, "The average cat sheds his body weight in loose hair each month."
Panzer says, Average? You maybe. Not me.
Average? You maybe. Not me.*

Obviously ...

This is not true.

There is no such thing as an average cat ...

All cats are way, way above average.
